Two First Interstate Executives Named to New Spots

First Interstate Bank announced the appointment of Executive Vice President Jaynie M. Studenmund as head of retail banking. The Los Angeles-based bank also announced that Executive Vice President Miles R. Adam will manage the bank card division, which includes credit card operations. Studenmund succeeds Daniel R. Eitingon, who was named to the newly formed job as head of the company’s technology banking group. Most recently, Studenmund was executive vice president and manager of the bank’s Los Angeles area, with responsibility for 108 branches. She joined the bank in 1985. Adam, who joined the bank the same year, was most recently manager of acquisitions and retail planning. He has overseen the acquisition of several major California banks and managed their consolidation into First Interstate.

* Madeleine A. Kleiner has joined H.F. Ahmanson & Co., parent company of Home Savings of America, as executive vice president and general counsel for both Ahmanson and Home Savings. Kleiner, 44, was a partner with the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher before joining the Irwindale-based company.

* Mikasa Inc. said it named Brenda W. Flores chief financial officer. The Long Beach-based maker of ceramic dinnerware and crystal stemware said Flores, 41, succeeds Raymond B. Dingman, who remains president and chief operating officer.
