Brazil Joins Complaint Against U.S.: Brazil joined Venezuela in bringing the case before the World Trade Organization over new U.S. rules on imported gasoline. The WTO’s Dispute Settlement Body agreed that the Brazilian complaint will be studied by the same panel set up in April to look into the U.S.-Venezuelan dispute, sources said. Brazil and Venezuela argue that standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for reformulated and conventional gasoline, which went into effect Jan. 1, violate WTO rules by discriminating against them.
