Fibreboard Mulls Sale of Wood Products Business: Citing a current sluggishness in the wood market, the building products company said the cyclical nature of wood products has made short-term prospects for the industry uncertain, though it still believes wood products are a good long-term business. Fibreboard Corp.’s wood products group owns about 80,000 acres of timberland in the central Sierra Nevada and also converts that wood into lumber, molding and other building products. The Walnut Creek, Calif.-based company’s wood products group had 1994 revenue of about $180 million, roughly half its entire revenue of $364 million for the year. Fibreboard shares closed up $2.625 at $20.50 on the American Stock Exchange.
