Sumitomo Bank of California Names CEO

Directors of Sumitomo Bank of California named Tsuneo Onda president and chief executive, effective immediately, the San Francisco-based bank said Tuesday.
Onda, 54, replaces Tadaichi Ikagawa, 56, who returns to Tokyo to become president and chief executive of Sumitomo Bank International Business Service Co., another subsidiary of Japan’s Sumitomo Bank.
Onda has been an executive vice president and a director of the California bank since December, 1993. Previously, he served as president director of the parent bank’s Indonesia subsidiary.
Directors also named Shuichi Tobimatsu, 53, a managing director of the parent bank.
