2 GM Pension Funds to Raise $1.57 Billion in EDS Stock Offering: Salaried and hourly employees will benefit from the sale of 37 million GM Class E shares at $42.375 each. Since last year, General Motors Corp. has put $17.2 billion into its pension plans, putting it on track to erase its worldwide unfunded pension obligations well before its goal of late 1996. Orders for the offering--the sixth-largest since 1980--were filled out Wednesday, according to an official at one of the underwriters. Merrill Lynch & Co. and Goldman, Sachs & Co. are the lead underwriters for the offering.
