AT&T;, Unions Agree on New Contract: The company and negotiators representing 110,000 of its workers reached accord on a new three-year contract, spokesmen for both sides said. “We made substantial improvement in the areas of wages, health care, pension benefits, employment security and training and education for our members,” said Morton Bahr, president of the Communications Workers of America. The contract must be ratified by the CWA rank and file and 20,000 members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
