Laidlaw Transit Picks Staffer for New President Job

Howard S. Wallack has been named president of Laidlaw Transit Services, a new position. Wallack, formerly senior vice president for West Coast operations, will continue as a senior vice president of the Los Angeles firm’s parent, Laidlaw Passenger Services Group, an Ontario, Canada-based company that operates transportation services across the country, including school bus, health care and community transportation.

* Brian Dapper has been promoted to senior vice president/general manager at R&B; Apartment Managing Co., a subsidiary of R&B; Realty Group, Los Angeles. Dapper will have responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company’s national apartment properties portfolio. Before this appointment, Dapper was divisional vice president of R&B; Realty’s Oakwood Apartments division, the company’s national extended-stay lodging chain that caters primarily to corporate travelers.

* Nikkodo U.S.A. Inc. announced the appointment of David A. Yaeger as president of U.S. operations. Yaeger, 38, succeeds Roger Kurobe, who become general manager and director of international marketing for the firm’s parent company, Nikkodo Co. Ltd. of Tokyo. Previously, Yaeger, who joined the company in 1991, was vice president/controller and operations. El Monte-based Nikkodo is the leading manufacturer of professional and home karaoke components.

* Wells Fargo Bank has promoted Donald E. Dana to executive vice president of its Corporate Properties Group. Dana, formerly senior vice president, is also president of Crocker Properties, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wells Fargo. He will be based at the bank’s headquarters in San Francisco.
