Nineteen Cubans were picked up at sea and held aboard a U.S. Coast Guard cutter. The refugees, who were picked up in three separate groups in waters north of Cuba, could face repatriation to their homeland, Coast Guard spokesman Peter Hurst said. “We’re awaiting word from the immigration department on what to do with them,” he said. The Coast Guard began returning Cuban refugees in May, after the Clinton Administration changed its policy.
