The Thousand Oaks unit of Oltmans Construction Co. has completed a $7.2-million building on land formerly occupied by Lockheed Aircraft Co. in Burbank.

The 116,000-square-foot structure was built for a Calabasas development firm that has leased it to the Agfa division of rGermany’s Bayer Corp. Agfa will use the building as a distribution, sales and marketing center.

The new building is air conditioned at 72 degrees for storage of Agfa’s movie film, medical imaging systems and other temperature-sensitive products. A 21,000-square-foot cold room is maintained at 42 degrees for special storage uses.

The structure was built on a five-acre site on Vanowen Street that was formerly part of Lockheed’s employee parking lot.

Oltmans, whose parent is based in Whittier, built the center for SMC Properties, a Calabasas development firm. Agfa leased the property for 10 years with a five-year renewal option.
