Workshop Slated on Using City Resources

A public workshop on city resources that people can use to keep their neighborhoods clean and environmentally sound will be held today in Van Nuys.

Sponsored by Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude and the city’s public works department, the seminar is intended to inform people on how they can use city resources to deal with graffiti, recycling, hazardous waste disposal, toxic materials management, water reclamation and other issues affecting their communities.

The half-day “Quality of Life” seminar will be conducted by city officials, including public works commissioners, bureau heads and project directors.

The workshop begins at 9 a.m. in the Health Education Auditorium of Valley Presbyterian Hospital, 15107 Vanowen St. Free parking is available in the hospital lot.
