In 1987 Hilton Hotels initiated the Hilton Senior HHonors program based on recognition of the growth and potential of such a market. The Hilton program offers travelers over 60 lodging and dinner discounts at more than 230 participating U.S. Hilton and international Conrad hotels. Membership provides discounts of up to 50% on accommodations, plus a 20% discount on dinners for two at Hilton hotels in the United States. The dining discount applies even if the members are not guests of the hotel. In addition to these discounts, Senior HHonors members receive the following:

* Members-only toll-free reservation service.

* Option for children, grandchildren or friends in a second room at the same discount if traveling on the same dates as the member.

* Preregistration.

* Late check-out (where available).

* Complimentary newspaper.

* Free use of health facilities (where available).

* Free bonus certificates for room upgrades.

Between now and Sept. 30, 1995, members are eligible for Hilton vacations for those who qualify:

* Most nights in a row. Guests who spend the most nights during the contest period will be eligible for a seven-night “Conrad Brussels Castle Reward,” which includes round-trip air fare on Delta to Belgium to stay at three castles; two meals included each day.

* Most stays at the largest number of different Hilton/Conrad hotels. Winners in this category will receive round-trip air transportation to Hilton Waikoloa Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii for a one-week stay in a luxury suite.

For grandparents, more than 80 Hilton hotels in the United States are promoting “Hilton Vacation Stations,” which provide participants with a Family Fun Kit, plus tips on family-oriented excursions in the cities where the hotels are located. Some offer supervised children’s activities. Children will receive an age-appropriate welcome gift plus a choice of 30 games and toys to enjoy during their stay. The Hilton Senior HHonors annual membership fee is $50; lifetime membership is $285. Call (800) 432-3600.
