IRIS Buys LDA Systems for 495,000 Shares of Stock

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth maker of hospital urinalysis equipment, said it has completed the acquisition LDA Systems Inc., for about 495,000 shares of IRIS common stock.
IRIS expected to take a onetime non-cash $3.1-million charge against second-quarter earnings for the acquisition. The company is in the process of applying to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for clearance to market a machine developed by LDA to analyze blood.
