Annie Buggs; at 115, One of the Oldest People in the World
Annie Buggs, 115, one of the oldest people in the world. Born in Georgia, she spent much of her life in Michigan before moving to Los Angeles in 1994 to live with her granddaughter, Ceola McClendon, who said Buggs had never even been in the hospital until April of this year. She was regularly saluted by Michigan TV and radio stations on each of her more recent Sept. 13 birthdays. Her survivors include five generations: a daughter, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and four great-great-great-grandchildren. In Los Angeles on May 26.
