Fullerton Friends Announce Music Season

Share

The Fullerton Friends of Music has announced its 37th season of free concerts at the Performing Arts Center of Sunny Hills High School.

“Unlike many chamber-music societies, we take a broad view of chamber music,” said Fullerton Friends artistic director Beulah Strickler. “We’ve got quartets and a trio, but we’ve also included a baroque group and a cello recital. We try to do a gamut.”

The season:

* Oct. 15: Miami String Quartet plays works by Beethoven, Ginastera and, joined by Whittier-based guitarist William Kanensiger, Boccherini.

* Feb. 18: San Francisco-based Alexander String Quartet plays works by Haydn, Lou Harrison and Beethoven.

* April 14: Baltimore-based Peabody Trio plays trios by Haydn, Schumann and Ravel.
