Nation IN BRIEF : ARKANSAS : Leniency Sought in Hubbell Sentencing

Former Associate Atty. Gen. Webster L. Hubbell, who pleaded guilty to bilking the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock and former clients, sought a lenient sentence for fraud and tax evasion. The former partner of First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton asked a judge to consider his community service and cooperation with prosecutors in the Whitewater case in seeking a lighter sentence. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for mail fraud and tax evasion.
