ZIP Code Demographics: Mailer’s Software, San Clemente, has introduced a program that allows direct-mail customers to learn demographic information about a given ZIP code.

The program can compare an area’s characteristics, such as race, age and average income, with national averages to help direct-mail companies avoid the costs of sending mail to recipients who are unlikely to respond to an ad.

Priced at $295, the program also allows users to look up any address in the United States and generate the mailing labels needed to obtain mass-mailing discounts from the post office.
