CAMARILLO : City Council Passes $33.8-Million Budget
Although statewide economic uncertainties continue to loom, the Camarillo City Council has approved a $33.8-million city budget for the 1995-96 fiscal year, proclaiming the city’s financial status as healthy and stable.
The council voted unanimously Wednesday to accept the economic package, which contains small increases in hiring and a 2.5% increase in employee salaries--1% of that a cost-of-living increase, City Manager Bill Little said.
“All in all we remain in reasonably good financial condition,” Little said. “However, we face many uncertainties stemming from the state’s budget process and the overall economy of the nation.”
The new spending plan provides for the hiring of a full-time inspector and a laboratory technician for the city’s storm-water management program and a part-time secretary for the planning and community development department.
