Rockwell Seeks Anti-Dumping Duties: The Seal Beach-based company has filed a petition with the Commerce Department and the U.S. International Trade Commission asserting that imports of large newspaper printing presses from Japan and Germany are being sold in the United States at substantially less than fair value and that these imports are causing material injury to the U.S. industry. The petition claims that Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and Germany’s MAN Roland both export printing presses to the United States at prices substantially below their cost of production. Rockwell International Corp. has requested that anti-dumping duties of 165% and 67%, respectively, be imposed on printing press imports from these manufacturers.
