Mesa Files Suit Against Shareholder Group: The Dallas-based oil and gas concern said it filed a lawsuit against dissident shareholders Marvin Davis, Dennis Washington and others over their efforts to force the company’s board, headed by oilman Boone Pickens, to enhance the value of the company’s stock. Mesa Inc. said it filed suit in federal court in Dallas charging that a group violated securities laws related to their acquisition of Mesa stock, which totals about 9.4%. According to Mesa, the group concealed information regarding the formation of the shareholders group and its holdings. Mesa said the group was formed a year ago and includes people not named in last week’s filing with the SEC.
