Odetics Inc.: The Anaheim company said Thursday it has filed a patent infringement suit in federal court in Virginia against Storage Technology Corp. and some of its customers. The complaint alleges that Storage Technology, of Louisville, Colo., is violating patent laws by manufacturing and selling various automated tape library systems, including the ACS 4400, Powderhorn, Wolfcreek and Timberwolf. The complaint further alleges that three customers of Storage Technology who use the ACS 4400 or Powderhorn automated tape library systems are infringing on the patent.

Storage Technology spokesman David Reid confirmed that a lawsuit has been filed, but declined further comment. Odetics said it is willing to license the patent to Storage Technology and its customers on reasonable terms. Odetics makes data information and video management products.
