Probe of Police Rampage Implicates Only 7 Officers
A two-month investigation of a drunken rampage by New York City police officers in Washington found that the mischief wasn’t as widespread as first reported, police officials said Tuesday.
Only seven officers, including two accused of sliding naked down a beer-slicked escalator banister in a downtown hotel, have been implicated in the embarrassing incident, officials said. They face internal hearings.
Roughly 1,000 members of the New York Police Department made the mid-May trip for a national memorial service for slain officers.
