Nayo on Racism
* Prof. Lydia Nayo uses the unreasonable comments of a white female associate, “The media have made such monsters of black men that I find myself afraid when I meet two black men on the street,” as the basis for her commentary on racism (July 5). I would like to point out that these are sentiments not exclusive to the “nice white women” or the media to whom she refers in her article. A public figure of some standing echoed these remarks some time back almost exactly. The public figure? Jesse Jackson.
