SOUTH GATE : $3.5 Million in Funds Will Boost Housing
The city has been awarded nearly $3.5 million in federal funds for community development programs to benefit low- and moderate-income families.
The funding includes a $2.8-million Community Development Block Grant and $668,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“These funds will promote neighborhood revitalization,” said Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Los Angeles).
The block grant will be used for low-income housing rehabilitation, housing code enforcement, and gang prevention and recreational programs. The HOME program will also be used for low-income housing programs, including assistance to first-time home buyers.
