It’s Your Life / People, Places and Things to do. : SCHOOL DAZE : Campus Planning All-Class Reunion

That big “V” on the hill overlooking mid-town Ventura isn’t to commemorate the relocation of half the population of the San Fernando Valley to the Poinsettia City, but rather is a landmark denoting Ventura High School, which had its first graduating class in 1890. On Saturday, a convincing demonstration that everyone in Ventura really isn’t from L.A. will unfold at the annual Brown Bag All-Classes Reunion on the Senior Lawn at the high school.

Known as the Cougars since 1953, and the Pirate Preps before that, all locals in the black and gold mood will have the chance to mingle from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The following day will be the 55th reunion of the class of 1940.

All those in attendance should bring a lunch, a hat, a chair, and a willingness to remember the good old days. Sandwiches and refreshments will be on sale. Ventura High is located at 2155 E. Main St. For more information, call Virginia Howell (class of 1940) at 644-3844.
