The Board of Supervisors will meet today in closed session to discuss progress on the search for a permanent chief executive officer.
Supervisors said Tuesday that they expect to receive a list of candidates that they will eventually narrow to a short list of the most qualified contenders.
John Wayne Airport Director Jan Mittermeier has been named interim CEO and has applied for the permanent position.
Supervisors met Tuesday in closed session to discuss hiring a new county counsel to fill the post vacated by the resignation of Terry C. Andrus last month.
In other action Tuesday, the board postponed voting on whether to increase dumping fees for landscapers, contractors and others who use small trucks or cars to haul trash to the county’s landfills. The proposal to raise the fees from $5 for cars and $10 for trucks to $20 for each vehicle will be considered in September, supervisors said.
