Local Fans Don’t Want This Advice Rammed Down Their Throats

Thomas Eagleton was the senator whose vice presidential aspirations were derailed when it was revealed he had undergone electroshock therapy. After reading his comments in Sunday’s Times, I think he still is in need of a few more volts.

He actually orchestrated the expenditure of public funds to build a football stadium for a multimillionaire. This while the St. Louis public school system is a disgrace to the nation. Georgia adds tens of millions to her bank account, Eagleton is a hero and poor children still go to schools without heat in the winter, with 20-year-old textbooks and classrooms so crowded some must stand or share chairs.

Maybe we all need a little electroshock for allowing this to go on not only in Missouri, but all over our country.

Concerning T.J. Simers’ article imparting advice from Sen. Eagleton about how to get a new team in Los Angeles, Eagleton states that L.A. must build a new stadium that is “deemed irresistible” if we want an NFL team again. My answer is, “Who wants one?”

Eagleton is crowing about getting the Rams in St. Louis and bragging about all the money they spent to do it. I have a suggestion for you, Senator. Go to the early home games and be seen on the field, so you will be cheered by the fans.

Bask in the glow of those moments, because as soon as the people of Missouri discover that they have paid dearly for a loser, you will be embarrassed to be seen on the field.
