Pesticide Affects Tenants Differently

In Kevin Postema’s Apartment Life column of July 16, there was a letter from an apartment dweller who was unhappy that his/her landlord would not apply pesticides. It goes to show you a landlord can’t please everybody. Chemically sensitive, ill or anti-pesticide tenants would equally object if pesticides were used.

The letter-writer needs to recognize that there are many people who do not want to have their apartments clouded with pesticides and should learn the many methods to fight insect pests without pesticides. Granted, those methods tend to take more effort than writing out a check (especially if someone else has to write out the check), but their environment, neighbors and health will be grateful.
