Obituaries : * Frank E. Bosarge; Retired Ship Captain
Frank Eugene Bosarge, a retired ship captain, died Sunday at his Port Hueneme home after a long illness. He was 88.
Bosarge, who was born Sept. 27, 1906, in Bayou La Batre, Ala., had resided in Ventura County for 29 years.
Bosarge retired in 1971 after a 54-year career as a ship’s captain, last working for Tidewater Marine.
Bosarge is survived by his wife, Arthurine Leslie Bosarge of Port Hueneme; his daughter, Sylvia Gene Hines of Ventura; his grandchildren, Glenda Kay Hines and Leslie Lea Hines, both of Ventura, and Frank Ray Hines of Santa Paula; and his great-grandchildren, Dale Hines, Eugene Hines and Erin Machelle Hines, all of Santa Paula.
Private services were held at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Burial will be in Bayou La Batre Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
