Virginia Howell, a 45-year resident of Ventura County, died Wednesday in a Ventura hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Howell was a licensed real estate broker and sold land for 30 years. She also worked for 20 years at Gates Rubber Co., serving in several positions.
She was a published author and taught college courses in writing. She was an active member of the Harbor Missionary Church of Ventura. She loved cats and leaves behind her black feline, Lucky.
She is survived by her husband, Parker; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is noon until 8 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Milt Davis of Harbor Missionary Church officiating.
A private burial follows at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Harbor Missionary Church’s Youth Ministry Fund, 1711 Wood Place, Ventura, 93003. Or donations can be made to the Humane Society of Ventura County, 402 Bryant St., Ojai 93023.
