Tivoli Industries Nets Third-Quarter Loss

Tivoli Industries Inc., which manufactures specialty lighting and related products, incurred a net loss of $15,313 for the third fiscal quarter, contrasted with net income of $12,070, or less than 1 cent a share, for the same period last year.

Sales for the quarter ended June 30 increased 29% to $1.1 million from $863,065. Net income for the first nine months was $56,511, or 1 cent a share, down 34% from the $85,475, or 3 cents a share, for the first nine months of the previous fiscal year. Sales rose 19% to $3.2 million from $2.7 million.

The company said the earnings decline resulted from increased sales and marketing expenses.
