Senate’s Abortion Limits

Re “Senate Acts to Limit Abortion Coverage to Rape, Incest Cases,” Aug. 6:
Sen. Don Nickles’ (R-Okla.) statement, “This is not an issue about a woman’s right to choose. This is about taxpayer dollars being used to destroy an innocent human life,” does not take into consideration the fact that probably the majority of taxpayers are in support of a woman’s right to choose and, furthermore, does not take into account the fact that an abortion would cost the government about $350, while pre- and postnatal care and delivery would cost many thousands of dollars. This taxpayer prefers the former.
