VENTURA : Sex, Politics Top Conference Agenda

Sex, politics and computer shopping are just some of the topics on tap for the fourth annual Ventura County Regional Conference for Women scheduled for Sept. 9.

Ashley Phillips, executive director of WomanCare Clinic in San Diego, will kick off the one-day conference with the talk “Achieving Balance, Contentment and Peace of Mind in the ‘90s.”

During the day, more than 25 speakers will present seminars at the Doubletree Hotel in Ventura, including sessions ranging from “How Does Your Sex Life Measure Up” to “If ‘Men Are from Mars and Women [From Venus],’ Then What’s the Official Language.”

Ann McFeatters, White House correspondent for Scripps Howard News Service, will deliver the keynote speech, “While I’m in the Shower, Who’s Minding the Country.”

In addition to the seminars, more than 65 exhibits will feature products, services and demonstrations for women. Registration costs $59; after Aug. 25, the cost will be $69. For more information, call 644-9555.
