General Automation Inc.: The Irvine computer company said it lost $1.1 million, or 15 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter, compared with a profit of $85,000, or 1 cent a share, for the comparable period last year. Sales for the quarter ended June 30 dropped to $2.8 million from $8.3 million. The year-earlier figures included results from Pacific Basin operations sold Oct. 1, 1994. The company lost $2.3 million, or 28 cents a share, in the nine months, contrasted with net income of $198,000, or 2 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Sales fell to $8.7 million from $25.2 million. The company said its fiscal 1995 results were affected by the assimilation of new business resulting from a partnership in May with SunRiver Data Systems, and delays in releasing new products.
