Clinton Heads for a Natural Time in Wyoming
President Clinton left the White House on Tuesday for a vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyo., where he plans to hike, ride horses, read, raft and maybe even camp, his spokesman said.
“I’d love it: Bill and Hill in a tent under the stars,” White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry said, savoring the public relations possibilities of a camp-out by Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The two will meet up at the end of the week with their daughter, Chelsea, who will fly in from an Alaska camping trip. In Jackson Hole, the Clintons will be the guests of Sen. John D (Jay) Rockefeller IV (D-W. Va.) at his vacation retreat.
McCurry said Rockefeller had stopped by the White House last week for an early birthday party for the President--Clinton will be 49 on Saturday--and gave him a huge ring loaded with several dozen keys, ostensibly to the bathrooms in the house.
Clinton will fly to Hawaii Aug. 30 to mark the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II.
