Mountain Bike Parts Recalled: The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that Specialized Bicycle Components Inc. is recalling about 3,500 forks and nearly 53,000 handlebars on some of its 1994 and ’95 mountain bikes. The Morgan Hill, Calif., company said it had received reports of handlebar and front brake failures that could result in serious injury to riders. The fork recall involves this year’s Stumpjumper models, while the handlebar problem involves the 1994 Rockhopper, Rockhopper Sport, Rockhopper GX, Rockhopper FS, Rockhopper Comp and Rockhopper Comp FS. The commission and the company said consumers should return bicycles to an authorized dealer for inspection and free replacement of the parts.
