There will also be special presentations on schools, alternatives to long commutes and neighborhood crime rates.

Lawyer and real estate expert Ronald Galperin will present a panel on avoiding the legal land mines in a home purchase. Also, you can check your credit and learn how to fix credit reporting mistakes. You can also learn how to pre-qualify for a loan and then do so at the fair.

Among the dozens of exhibitors will be major lenders, realtors and government agencies including the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

A five-part step-by-step workshop series on the ABCs of home buying will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The series will be kicked off with a session on credit followed by those on selecting the right home loan, the best real estate agent, the ideal neighborhood and the perfect house.
