AmeriQuest Technologies Inc.: The Santa Ana firm said Thursday that it is terminating its unprofitable entertainment software division, which the microcomputer company says will result in $50 million in charges in the fourth quarter ended July 31.

The financially troubled Santa Ana company also said its acquisition by Munich-based Computer 2000 has been completed. Computer 2000 has replaced a number of AmeriQuest’s executives with its own management team. After announcing the sale two weeks ago, the German company named Steve DeWindt, co-president of Computer 2000, as chairman and chief executive of AmeriQuest.

AmeriQuest also said terms of its proposed merger with Robec Inc., a Horsham, Pa.-based distributor of computers and products, have been amended, and the merger is scheduled to be completed in September. Under the amended terms, Robec shareholders will receive an additional 882,000 shares of AmeriQuest common stock. AmeriQuest’s stock closed Thursday at $1.75, down 12.5 cents in New York Stock Exchange trading.
