4 Russian Guards Killed in Chechnya

MOSCOW —
Four Russian border guards were killed and 13 wounded Friday in clashes with Chechen rebels that cast further doubt over prospects for peace in the region.
Interfax news agency, quoting border guard headquarters in Moscow, said the casualties occurred in fighting near Chechnya’s eastern border with the Dagestan region.
It was not clear how many rebels or Russian troops were involved.
