Etta Farkas; Hungarian-Born Bakery Owner
Camarillo resident Etta Farkas, who loved baking and gardening, died Friday at Pleasant Valley Hospital after a brief illness. She was 70.
Born in Bagna, Hungary, on June 22, 1925, Farkas lived in Camarillo for 17 years, having moved there from Los Angeles. She owned and operated Etta’s Continental Bakery in Camarillo from 1971 to 1983. She operated a bakery in Brentwood prior to 1971.
Farkas is survived by daughters Eva Farkas of Camarillo, Angela Mangini of West Port, Conn., and Ildico Parker of Kona, Hawaii. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Conejo Mountain Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
