Audi Recalls 10,800 Cars: The luxury car unit of Volkswagen said it has recalled cars delivered since July because of faulty electric windows. The Ingolstadt, Germany-based company said it has discovered defects in the rear-door window mechanisms of several A4, A6, S6 and A8 models. In some cases, electric child safety locks have not prevented windows from being opened or, when released, have not allowed the windows to open, the company said. Audi said it will install a mechanical child safety system free of charge in any car in which such problems are detected. The company did not provide an estimate of how much the recall would cost.
