Gunman in Wig, Lipstick Robs Restaurant of $3,000 in Cash
A gunman wearing a black wig and lipstick and claiming to have a bomb held up a Calabasas restaurant Thursday, getting away with about $3,000 in cash, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said.
The “customer,” who had been in a booth at the Red Robbin restaurant in the 24000 block of Calabasas Road, approached the manager just before 10 a.m. and demanded money, Sgt. Mary Olson of the Lost Hills sheriff’s station said.
“He showed a box he said contained a bomb and displayed a gun,” Olson said. “The manager complied.”
She said the suspect fled in a red Volkswagen Jetta.
