Ceradyne Inc.: The Costa Mesa company, which makes advanced technical ceramic products and components, said Friday that it plans to offer 1.2. million shares of common stock to raise funds for capital expenditures, debt repayment and other purposes. After the offering, which includes an over-allotment of 180,000 shares, the company will have 7.47 million common shares.

United Leisure Corp.: The Irvine company reported a second-quarter loss of $539,000, or 44 cents a share, compared with a profit of $151,500, or 43 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. The company attributed the loss to costs of opening its children’s camps and learning centers. Revenue rose 16.6% to $637,000 from $546,000.

For the six months ended June 30, United Leisure said it lost $532,000, or 43 cents per share, compared to a loss of $105,000, or 3 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue totaled $1.1 million, up 43.7% from $770,600.
