‘An Angel at My Table’

Made by “Sweetie” and “The Piano’s” iconoclastic Jane Campion, this remarkable 1990 release, airing in its long version, is an amazing biography of Janet Frame, New Zealand’s most celebrated novelist and poet. Her struggles as an artist are intensified by her long ordeal as an incorrectly diagnosed schizophrenic. It stars Kerry Fox in a portrayal that is both heroic and profoundly illuminating. Alexia Keogh (pictured) plays Frame as a child (Bravo Tuesday at 5 p.m., continued Wednesday at 5 p.m. and completed Thursday at 5 p.m.).
