COMPANY TOWN : Ticketmaster Names Midwest Exec to Head New Ticketing Company

Ticketmaster is restructuring its operations, putting its ticketing business into a newly formed company and promoting a Chicago-based executive to run it day to day. The company is forming Ticketmaster Ticketing Co., and it named Terry Barnes, head of its Midwest ticketing operation, president and chief operating officer. Frederic D. Rosen, who heads Ticketmaster, will be chairman and chief executive of the new unit, but is expected to relinquish daily operational duties to Barnes so he can work on acquisitions and other ventures to expand the company.

Separately, Ticketmaster named Claire Rothman, Marla Hoicowitz and Eugene Cobuzzi as executive vice presidents.

* Film industry veterans Mitch Blum and Trisha Robinson have announced the formation of Medallion Entertainment Management Group Inc., a new company established to represent filmmakers, production companies and distribution entities through the process of marketing, sales and distribution of their film products.

* Michael Laney has been promoted to senior vice president of operations for Warner Bros.’ feature animation division.

* IMAX Corp. has appointed Christian H. Jorg vice president of its newly formed business affairs and business development department.

* Ken Solomon, currently executive vice president of network distribution for Fox Broadcasting, has signed a multiyear deal with DreamWorks SKG to join the company in a role that will encompass all areas of television production and distribution.

* MTM Television has appointed Sharon Hall vice president of syndication and specials, Michael Lansbury vice president of series programming, and Donna Carolan vice president of movies and miniseries. Chuck Lioi has been named manager, creative services, and Eden Mitchell has been named manager, publicity and promotion, for MTM Worldwide Distribution.

* Viacom Consumer Products has promoted Tim Elwell to executive director and Roupen Puzantian to director of international licensing.

* Adventure, a post-production house in Hollywood, has named Chris Kern to head its in-house special effects and computer graphics division.

* Hallmark Home Entertainment announced new positions with Susie Lee as creative director and Matt Steinbuch as director of technical operations.

* Jane Ayer Public Relations has added two senior-level employees to its staff--Stephanie Long as vice president and Guy Thomas as senior creative consultant.

In a Company Town listing on Friday, The Times incorrectly spelled the name of Peter D. Csathy, Savoy Pictures vice president of business affairs.
