Advanced Photonix Inc., a producer of photodetector devices and other electronic products in Camarillo, said revenues during the quarter ended July 2 totaled $1.9 million, up from $1.7 million a year ago.

The company reported a net loss of $287,000, or three cents a share, in the latest three months, compared to a loss of $503,000, or six cents a share, in the same period last year.

“Volume and margins in the core business have improved and are a reflection of our commitment to achieve profitability,” said James W. Ward, board chairman.
