CONEJO VALLEY : Park District Board to Consider Wish List

Share

The wish list for the Conejo Recreation and Park District includes an outdoor amphitheater, night lights, a new gymnasium, more open space, a golf course and additional soccer fields, baseball diamonds and volleyball courts.

If the district board approves the list at its meeting Thursday, the suggestions would go on a survey to determine what voters might support for bond funding.

The survey would also include proposals from the city of Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Unified School District. The three entities would then pool resources to provide the most opportunities for the community, said Tex Ward, manager of the recreation and park district.

“You have all 15 of the local elected officials for these three boards looking at community needs as a whole in terms of public projects,” he said. “Each agency has a different mission and somewhat different priorities, but they serve the same constituents.”

Ward said any of the projects would be collaborative among all three entities.

The next joint meeting of the three boards is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday at Thousand Oaks City Hall.
