Family Escapes Harm in Home Robbery

A Simi Valley couple were tied up in their home and their three children held at knife- and gunpoint as three men robbed the family Tuesday morning, a Simi Valley police spokesman said.

The family was unharmed during the incident that occurred about 10 a.m. in the 2100 block of Madrone Street, said Police Department spokesman Lt. Rex Jones. The robbers first tied up the couple and then one of the thieves watched the children, telling them to “stay where you are.”

The children complied and the other robbers gathered the cash and other valuables, Jones said. The three men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.

This is not the first home invasion robbery the city has seen, Jones said, but he added that such incidents are rare.

The suspects remain at large.
