IBM Execs Shuffle; Taligent Chief Leaves for Motorola: The changes came two days after the surprise departure of IBM’s chief financial officer, Jerome York. Lee Reiswig was moved from general manager of the OS/2 operating program group to general manager of technical strategy for the software division. Succeeding Reiswig will be John W. Thompson. Separately, Joe Guglielmi, chief executive of the Taligent joint venture with Apple Computer Inc., resigned to become general manager of the Motorola Inc. computer group. David M. Thomas was named general manager of IBM North America. He succeeds Robert M. Stephenson, who succeeded Richard Thoman as chief of IBM’s personal computer division. Thoman, a protege of IBM chief executive Louis V. Gerstner Jr., replaced York as chief financial officer.
