Questar to Buy Stake in Tenneco Pipeline: Tenneco Gas has agreed to sell its 50% stake in the big Kern River natural gas pipeline to a unit of Questar Corp. for $225 million cash. Williams Cos., which owns the other half of the Wyoming-to-California pipeline, has the right to match the offer. Tulsa, Okla.-based Williams previously s expressed interest in owning the other half, but never came to terms with Tenneco. The Kern River purchase will add $8 million to $10 million to Questar’s net income in the first year, or 5 cents to 10 cents a share, said R. Curtis Burnett, Questar spokesman. Tenneco Gas is expected to record a gain of about $50 million on the sale, said Ronald Barone, a PaineWebber analyst.
