THOUSAND OAKS : City Offers Compost Class at Historic Park

Combining recycling lessons with a touch of history, Thousand Oaks is holding a composting workshop at Stagecoach Inn Historic Park this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

After a lesson on turning used coffee grounds and eggshells into rich dirt for the garden, residents are invited to stay for a tour of the old inn and its grounds.

The free event is sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Public Works Department.

Participants should bring a folding chair and a bag of vegetable scraps for the worm bin. Compost bins will be available for a discount, and there will be a drawing for a free bin.
